A Synopsis Of What We Believe
Statement of Faith-GNBBC, Inc.Church Conduct
We Believe in one God, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent; the Creator, sustainer of the universe, revealing Himself to us in His word as Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Spirit).
We Believe the Holy Bible to be the inerrant, infallible, living and abiding word of God, revealing the character, will and mind of God, disclosing His plans for the universe and man, the crown of His creation.
We Believe that through the sins of Adam, the first man, all mankind is under a curse of sin and death, and is only saved through the atonement of Jesus Christ (the Last Adam).
We Believe that through Jesus Christ we have wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We also have through Him, all of the temporal provisions for our physical life, including healing of the body and mind and all material needs.
We Believe that the church is the body of Christ; therefore, every Christian must identify with the church.
We Believe in the sacraments of Water Baptism and Holy Communion.
We Believe in the indwelling power of the Holy Ghost, enduing and empowering believers to speak with tongues and imparting divers gifts to the members of the body of Christ.
We Believe in the final judgment, with the resurrection of the righteous to eternal bliss and the wicked to eternal damnation.
12 BASIC BIBLE REASONS WHY I AM A BAPTIST
1. I am a Baptist first because Baptists believe the whole Bible and accept nothing but the Bible as their guide in matters of faith and practice. Matt. 28:18-20; Luke 6:46, II Tim. 3:15.
2. I am a Baptist because Baptist believe in One Lord, One Faith, and One Baptism. Eph. 4:5.
3. I am a Baptist because Baptist believe that salvation is wholly of God (John 1:12-13), that we are saved by grace and not of works (Eph. 2:8.9) and at the two conditions of salvation are Repentance and Faith. (Luke 13:3; John 3:15,16).
4. I am a Baptist because Baptists believe in a regenerated membership. John 3:3; Acts 2:41,47.
5. I am a Baptist because the Baptist Church is the only church that has a Spiritual head and founder-Christ is its only head and He has founded only one church. (Matt. 16:18; Col. 1:18.
6. I am a Baptist because Christ the head of the Church, the only begotten Son of God, both accepted and requested baptism at the hand of John the Baptist preacher (Matt. 3:13-15) who was prepared in heaven (Luke 1:44) for this sublime task, and sent from God. (John 1:6).
7. I am a Baptist because Baptists promote the rights of the individual; First, we may seek God for ourselves. Acts 17:27; Second, everyone must repent for himself. Acts 17:30; Third, everyone must confess for himself. Rom. 10:9,10; Fourth, everyone must report to God himself. Rom. 14:11,12.
8. I am a Baptist because Baptists believe in the theocracy and democracy of the church, the sovereignty of God and the equality of each member. Col. 1:18; Matt. 20:24; Matt. 23:5-8.
9. I am a Baptist because Baptist Ministers (whether called Pastors or Bishops) are equal in rank and are never to exercise authority over one another, Mk. 10:42-44.
10. I am a Baptist because Baptists accept as church ordinances only those things ordered by Jesus Christ which symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, namely-Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Rom. 6:3-5; I Cor. 11:23-26. That the quotation "Let a man examine himself and so let him eat…" is a statement addressed to a Church and has no reference to non-Christians and non-church members. I Cor. 11:28.
11. I am a Baptist because Baptists believe that the salvation of God is eternal. John 3:14-178; 10:28-31; Rom. 8:1,33-39; Heb. 11:13,32,33.
12. I am a Baptist because Baptists believe in the second coming of Christ. Act 1:11. The immortality of the human soul. Gen 2:7; I Cor. 15:53-55. The resurrection of the body. I Cor. 15:44. The final judgement of a just God. Matt. 25:41-46. And the never-ending punishment of sinners and the eternal bliss of the saints. Matt. 25:34-46.
